MP Police Constable Driver Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Indian citizens and fulfil the educational qualification, driving licence, age, domicile and other conditions prescribed in the MPESB rulebook.

Educational Qualification

In addition to the educational qualification, candidates must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving Licence. Qualifying the practical driving trade test is also mandatory.

MP Police Constable Driver Domicile Condition

Candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply only against Unreserved Open vacancies. Such candidates are not eligible for reservation or age-relaxation benefits available to Madhya Pradesh domiciles.

MP Police Constable Driver Age Limit

The minimum age is 18 years. Age will be calculated with reference to 29 October 2026.

Age relaxation benefits will be applicable only as prescribed in the rulebook. Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh will not receive State reservation or age-relaxation benefits.

MP Police Constable Driver Salary

During the initial period, the stipend is payable at 70% of the minimum pay scale in the first year, 80% in the second year and 90% in the third year, as per the applicable Madhya Pradesh Government provisions. Other allowances and benefits sanctioned by the State Government will also apply.

MP Police Constable Driver Written Exam Pattern

Subject-wise Marks

Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is no deduction for an incorrect or unanswered question.

MP Police Constable Driver Physical Efficiency Test

The Physical Efficiency Test carries a maximum of 40 marks and consists of an 800-metre run. Candidates get one opportunity to complete the run.

For regular candidates, a minimum of 20% marks in the 800-metre run and at least 30% of the total Physical Efficiency Test marks, equivalent to 8 marks out of 40, are required.

MP Police Constable Driver Shortlisting

Based on the written examination cut-off percentile, candidates up to seven times the advertised vacancies under vertical reservation will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates securing the same cut-off percentile will also be called even if the number exceeds seven times the vacancy count.

The driving practical trade test is qualifying in nature. Candidates must pass the trade test for final selection.

Final selection will be made from candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test and Trade Test. Selection will be based on the percentile obtained in the first-stage written examination, subject to successful document verification and fulfilment of other eligibility conditions.

MP Police Constable Driver Physical Standards

The rulebook prescribes separate physical measurement standards for the Special Armed Force and other applicable categories. For Special Armed Force male candidates in the General/OBC category, the prescribed standard includes a minimum height of 168 cm and chest measurement of 79 cm unexpanded and 84 cm expanded.

Other category-specific physical standards are prescribed in the rulebook and should be checked by candidates before applying.
